Acknowledged by industry leaders, as “one of the landmark events in South Asia”, Convergence India is the country’s fastest growing and most dynamic industry event. Participants have praised the event for maintaining its eite standards with regard to the overall ambience and the participation levels, as well as achieving the objective of making business happen for all those who attended.

The main objective of the three-day event is to bring the ICT fraternity together and provide an international platform to make business happen. The 2007 event placed emphasis on the Broadband Revolution and Rural Connectivity in the ICT era.

Judging by the diversity of exhibitors, delegates and conference topics, Convergence India 2007 - THE platform for product launches and the latest innovations - has raised the bar for ICT related events in the region. It has also added a new challenge to the learning curve for all stakeholders.

The three-day 15th Convergence India 2007 exhibition and conference explored the multiple ways of connecting the 700 million unconnected people in India, narrowing down on technologies such as wireless broadband and listing its benefits.


Held in New Delhi from 21 – 23 March 2006, the event was co organized by the Cellular Operators Association of India and Exhibitions India, and brought together the “who’s who” of the global ICT business on a single platform.
   

With 455 participants from 24 countries, Convergence India 2007 played host to 40 sponsors, 1,468 delegates and 21,486 trade visitors. The event received wide praise and compliments from all participants. A review of the feed-back records indicate a high level of satisfaction from all participants for the high standards the exhibition has set over the years.

The majority of participants also indicated that they met their objectives of concluding new business deals and establishing useful contacts from which they expect orders to materialize.

 

The 15th Convergence India 2007 showcased leading global corporates from the field of Telecommunications, Mobility, Broadcast, Cable, Satellite, Information Technology and Information Security. Their aggressive presence at the event defines the opportunities available in India, and highlights the projected development present in the ICT sector.

The industry was looking at a “250 million subscriber base” in 2007, during the 14th Convergence India Exhibition in 2006. This year they have taken this target for granted and are looking ahead to the next million. The participants discussed the next target – 500 million subscriber base by 2010. The opportunity pie is growing, thus doubling the need for equipment purchase, maintenance and billing.

With sessions on Next Gen Telecom; Wireless Delivery: Broadband for all; Services on Demand: Business & Infotainment; Towards Mobile Information Society; Security Challenges for the Enterprise, Enabling SMB’s & SME’s for tomorrows growth, the comprehensive conference saw over 100 industry speakers and technocrats from the ICT sector.

2007 is projected to be the year of ICT- rural connectivity, broadband, mobile content, grassroots PC penetration, telemedicine, and several other vital and exciting services.

With the largest ever congregation of the information and communications sector under one roof, Convergence India 2007 has cemented its position as South Asia’s  largest ICT event and set the ball rolling for transforming global lifestyles.
