New Delhi, 23 March 2026: Building on a distinguished legacy of over 30 years in driving India’s technological discourse, the 33rd Convergence India & 11th Smart Future Cities India Expo opened today at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The three-day expo, which is a major platform for India’s digital and urban transformation, also features focused conference sessions across telecom, AI, quantum, IoT, smart mobility, fintech and startups brought together leaders from the government, industry, startups and the technology ecosystem to discuss the future of digital infrastructure, intelligent connectivity and innovation-led growth.
The event opened with a high-level inaugural session that was attended by dignitaries such as Sergey Cheremin, Minister of the Govt. of Moscow, Head of the Department for External Economic & International Relations of Moscow, Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), and Neeraj Kharwal (IAS), MD ITPO. Titled “6G, AI & Quantum: Shaping the Intelligent Future of Connectivity,” the session examined how emerging technologies are redefining telecom innovation, strengthening public-private partnerships and shaping the next phase of India’s digital growth.
While addressing the gathering, Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman, TRAI, observed, “India is undergoing one of the fastest digital transformations in the world. Telecommunication and digital technologies are now core infrastructure for economic growth, governance, and social inclusion.”
This year, the expo is proud to host an exclusive pavilion from Moscow. Sergey Cheremin highlighted the enduring partnership between Russia and India, noting, “Our nations have built a strong partnership over 70 years, driving advancements in science, technology, and aerospace. A major focus for both countries remains digital transformation and the implementation of smart, safe 3D programs.” International presence is further bolstered by dedicated pavilions from New Zealand and Taiwan.

At its heart, the expo is a celebration of ‘Brand India’, ‘Make in India’, and ‘Digital India’. Under the theme “India’s Impact: Tech Today Transformation Tomorrow,” Convergence India marks India’s growing prominence as a global force in the digital landscape and showcases its evolving capabilities, enabling the evolution of cutting-edge technologies and solutions that support its vision of becoming a developed economy by 2047. The co-located expos – AI Bharat, Fintech India, Smart Mobility India, IoT & Embedded Tech India, Mobile & Smart Living India – offer a complete ecosystem under one roof.
Over the course of three days, the expo will welcome an anticipated audience of approx. 50,000, eager to experience the displays of 1,000 participants from the country and overseas. This year, an impressive lineup of over 200 startups from across industry segments will present breakthrough ideas and innovations.
